We are FINALLY able to share that we are moving to Atlanta, Georgia! 🍑🍑🍑
Now that we know for sure where we are going we can share a little more about what has been going on in our lives for the past 2 months and what our future holds.
At the end of January, my husband lost his job. It both came as a surprise and didn’t. We both kind of saw it coming, but just didn’t think it would happen as fast as it did.
Luckily, we were prepared for a situation like this and could take our time finding the right job.
Unfortunately, we knew that it would mean that we would have to move because there weren’t any available jobs in the area for my husband’s career.
This also meant that we had to make the difficult decision to have me withdrawal from school for the semester. We knew I would not be able to finish the semester before having to move.
I won’t lie, that was a hard decision to make and it is hard to postpone schooling for a whole semester. Especially as a 30-something mom going back to school to switch careers.
In all honesty, the whole situation was pretty hard. Not to mention STRESSFUL for us!
There were points where my husband and I got discouraged, can’t lie. But we survived!!!
When my husband came home and told me that he had lost his job, my first reaction was, “this needed to happen. It’s for the best.”
That’s crazy, right? But honestly, my husband had been unsatisfied for such a long time and needed to move on. He just didn’t want to leave a comfortable job.
So when he lost his job, he was forced to go full force into the job hunt.
Less than 7 weeks after he lost his job he had accepted a new, better one that he is SO excited for and I am so excited for him!
We are excited to move to a new area. My husband moved to Indiana from Chapel Hill, North Carolina when he was 25. However, I have never lived anywhere but southern Indiana my ENTIRE life! So I am more nervous for this move than my husband, for sure!
Of course, it is SUPER hard leaving behind EVERYTHING I have ever known here in Indiana. Nearly my entire family still lives here. Also, all my amazing friends! Not to mention all my kid’s amazing friends.
No doubt, this will be an emotional time for us all!
I am looking forward to sharing all about this journey with y’all. I will share more about the last two months and the months to come soon!
So, have YOU ever been through a layoff or relocation? Tell me all about it! 😊😊😊
